Penile Cancer

Penile cancer is an extremely rare cancer that can develop anywhere on the penis. It most often occurs
in uncircumcised men and is usually a type of squamous cell carcinoma. Symptoms include a red lesion
on the penis or a mass. It can spread to the lymph nodes, but can often be cured if caught in its early
stages. Treatment options include microsurgery to shave away the lesion, removal of the lesion and some
surrounding tissue, and sometimes removal of the affected lymph nodes. In some cases of extensive
disease, chemotherapy might be used.
